The new thinkAG Career and Education Expo at Canadian Western Agribition will allow students to explore the endless career and entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture, learn about modern food production and discover the diversity of agriculture-related post-secondary options.
Classes of grades 9 through 12 students are invited to participate in the Expo through registration in a half-day workshop. During the workshop, small groups of students will rotate through interactive stations, profiling various agricultural career paths such as agronomy, animal science, agricultural trades and technology, food development, agribusiness, and research and innovation. At each station, students will learn firsthand from somebody working in that specific field, plus participate in a hands-on activity to truly "experience" what the job entails. The workshops will also feature an introduction to agriculture and a spotlight on agriculture-related post-secondary programs.
