The Indigenous Student Support Centre is a special space in the YRHS dedicated to supporting the academic and personal success of our First Nation, Metis and Inuit students. First and foremost, the goal of the Centre is to provide our students with a sense of belonging in our school community. It is a place to visit with friends, grab a bite to eat, do homework, or have a conversation with our 2022-2023 Indigenous Student Success Lead (ISSL), Ms. Nicolas or our Indigenous Community Worker, Ms. Journey Delorme. There are other staff members assigned to the role of Grad Coach that are in and out of the support center throughout the day and the different semesters: A. Sawatsky, G. Willems, B. Gelowitz, J. McBride, and K. Neibrandt.
Beyond the space itself, the Indigenous Student Support Centre provides academic, cultural, and personal support through different services and activities carried out daily and/or throughout the school year.
