Resource Centre Guide

Mission Statement for the E & C Quine Resource Centre (YRHS Library)

We live in an information rich age where technology and the internet have radically altered the mission of the modern day library. Our students need to become critical thinkers who acquire, evaluate, and ethically use information to solve problems and investigate topics of interest.  To facilitate this mission, the E & C Quine Resource Centre will provide available, flexible and inviting learning spaces and access to updated digital and print resources that represent diverse perspectives.  Library technicians will collaborate with teachers and administrators to design learning experiences that support school/district goals and curriculum objectives.

The mission of the E & C Quine Resource Centre is to provide quality learning experiences designed to equip students with the skills to adapt and thrive in a changing global environment.  Our library extends and enhances the classroom experience: a place where students and teachers can explore, learn, create, and collaborate. We foster a love of reading and learning in addition to modeling and utilizing current technologies to assist students in becoming proficient and responsible users and creators of information.
